13 questions your resume should answer
- Tags:

A lot of people think their resume is nothing short of marvelous but in reality, a large majority falls quite short of the mark.
Some of this is due to the fact that people are simply not thinking about the hiring process. Rather, they are focusing on the job application process. Knowing yourself better can definitely help to promote yourself better in the eyes of hiring managers.
Here are 20 questions to ask yourself before you hand out your resume again:
13) What specific AND realistic job titles are you targeting? (Please be specific regarding level, functional role, industry, and any environmental factors that are important to you.)
12) In your performance reviews, in what areas did you receive the highest scores or the most positive feedback?
11) What is the most important part of your current job?
10) Can you tell me about a typical day in your own words; what is predictable, what is difficult?
9) Can you name three critical functions of your job that would impact the company/department if you were not at work one day?
8) At the end of the day, what makes you feel good about what you've done?
7) What key problems did you identify - and how did you help solve them? (Please describe in the Challenge-Action-Result format.)
6) Were you chosen for any additional assignments? (What were they?)
5) What would you rate as your top three skills?
4) What have you done that has broadened your responsibilities?
3) What do others say about you and your work?
2) What sets you apart from other candidates for this job?
1) Why are you a good employee? Why are you better than average?
If you don't have a good answer for these, maybe it's time to talk to a professional resume writer.
